The Minister of the Business Visits JLR, while the switch-off date caused by cyber attack

Economic Secretary Peter Kyle will visit Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to meet companies in the supply chain when the oppressed car manufacturer extended his closure after a cyber attack.

JLR, the largest automobile manufacturer in Great Britain, has extended its production break to production until October 1 and has an impact on the companies that take care of them.

The unions have called for a holiday scheme for employees suffering from the closure.

Minister of Industry Chris McDonald said: “We have two priorities and help Jaguar Land Rover, as soon as possible and to run the long -term health of the supply chain.

“The economic secretary and I today visit JLR to organize companies in the supply chain, listen to the employees and hear how we can support them and help to bring production online again.

The Unite Union has requested a holiday scheme for workers in the JLR delivery chain.

MPs from all over West Midlands and Merseyside, where JLR has plants, called for Mr. Kyle to consider Covid-style loans to support supply chain companies with around 200,000 workers.

They suggest that an automotive interruption loan system like the CBils that companies kept alive during the pandemic closure.

JLR is currently supporting his own supply chain and not for state intervention.

The cyber attack hit JLR on August 31 and production was carried out until at least October 1st.

A JLR spokesman said: “We made this decision to give clarity for the coming week, while we are creating the schedule for the steady restart of our business and continuing our investigations.

“In addition to Cybersecurity specialists, the NCSC (National Cyber ​​Security Center) and the law enforcement agencies, our teams work together around the clock to ensure that we will restart and safely restart.

“Our focus remains on the support of our customers, suppliers, colleagues and our open retailers. We fully recognize a difficult time for everyone who is connected to JLR, and we thank everyone for their continued support and patience.”
